The University received a record-breaking $82.5 million in private gifts during the past fiscal year ending June 30.

Although Northeastern University recently decided to specially recruit openly gay and lesbian faculty, Penn State has no plans to change its recruiting policies.

Student leaders denounced a housing proposal they called discriminatory against students in speeches before the State College Borough Council and about 30 residents Tuesday night.

The State College Borough Council paved the way for new commercial, industrial and residential development by approving an urban village amendment to the borough's zoning ordinance at Tuesday night's council meeting.

SPORTS

Since joining the Big Ten, the men's basketball team knew it could count on facing one of the toughest schedules in the nation year after year.

Under the blue and white banner in McCoy Natatorium reading "Home of the Nittany Lion Swim Teams," Women's Coach Bob Krimmel paced the side of the pool tracking the motion of the submerged athlete.

The end of winter and the onslaught of spring traditionally represent an awakening, and nowhere is this more evident than at Penn State.

George Marion's dog has been getting a lot of attention from the media lately. Whether it's cameo appearances on television or pictures with his owner in local magazines, Tramp, a Yorkshire terrier, has been caught in the spotlight ever since Marion founded the People's Choice of Pennsylvania Arts and Crafts Festival last summer.
