The Playhouse Theatre had an unusually intimate quality, with a complicated set dominated by the gray of steel girders and scaffolding that seemed to extend past the stage and invite the audience into the performance.

A boy stuffed several unused M-80s in his pocket one Fourth of July, and somehow they exploded. He was rushed to the hospital, and his third-degree burns were treated with a skin graft.

SPORTS

It might seem strange to see a Penn State basketball player practicing at the University of Iowa in June.

Michael Jennings, only four months removed from his last game as a member of the Nittany Lion basketball team, has made a transition to coaching.

Put a lovingly conceived plot and remarkably talented artists together with a cast of distinguished voices and the result is a breathtaking achievement that advances the concept of the animated feature film by leaps and bounds.
