With the help of the 1994 senior class gift, by the time the freshmen this year are seniors, they could be studying, researching and stressing after midnight in a new library facility.

The continued vandalism of a University professor's office door was brought up in a meeting of the Committee for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Equity yesterday afternoon.

What was billed as a debate on gays in sports turned into a debate on morals and rights last night at Schwab Auditorium.

As chief of the State College Police Department, Tom King's commitment to community relations is as strong as it was when he was sworn into office one year ago today.

The men's volleyball team is two matches away from the end of one of its best seasons ever. It is also two matches away from one of its most difficult seasons ever.

Plagued with a serious knee injury, senior tennis tri-captain Andi Chiumento may be forced to sit out the last few matches of her senior year, possibly cutting short her four years of contribution to Penn State tennis. However, injuries are not new to Chiumento.

When the Nittany Lion baseball team traveled to Indiana this past weekend, its goal was to gain a sweep or three wins over the Hoosiers. The goal was almost a reality -- until the seventh inning of Sunday's finale in Bloomington.

Ask the Nittany Lion baseball players about confidence and they'll give you an earful.

In the 1994 Collegiate Martial Arts Championships Sunday at Villanova University, five members of the Penn State Tae Kwan Do Club experienced success on both the individual and team level.

One word describes Penn State's victory in this weekend's Rutherford Intercollegiate Golf Tournament -- blowout. As the wind howled across the course, Penn State cruised to a 34-stroke victory.

Penn State just can't seem to get ahead in the Big Ten. Every time the men's tennis team makes progress on its conference record, the Lions find themselves right back where they started.

Danielle Gilliatt's dramatic return on Saturday provided a spark for Penn State in the Hoya Invitational.

Equipped with clippers, gymnast Tony Pansy is ready to go to work. Not on the competition floor, but in his bathroom -- which is easily transformed into a barber shop.

HERSHEY -- With all hopes for victory gone, it would have been easy. Coast through the remainder of the day, get on the bus and go home.

When Pennsylvania beer comes up in conversation, visions of Iron City and Stroh's usually come to mind. But according to Modern Brewery Age magazine's 1993 figures, the state is home to more breweries than any other in the union.

Trevor Brown wants to retire in 10 years and open a brew pub in the Southwest with his own beer on tap. For now, he's stuck brewing in his bath tub.

Roll into the tiny Western Pennsylvania steel town of Latrobe and look around.

They keep coming.

Students from across the country trek to Happy Valley for a lot of reasons. Some come to learn engineering, others come for political science -- some even come to study filmmaking.
