Police Log

  • Criminal Mischief/Theft: Edward Webb of 412 Stuart reported parts of his bicycle were stolen between Saturday and Monday from outside Snyder Hall, University Police Services said.

    The parts are worth $350.

  • Criminal Mischief: University employee Brenda Smith reported a BB or pellet was shot through a glass door late Monday night on the south side of Moore Building, University police said.

    The amount of damage is $200.

  • Gambling: The State College Police Department is investigating a possible pool-selling and bookmaking operation at the State College Area High School that was reported last month.

    The incident occurred on school property and police said a State College area man is a suspect.

  • Rules and Regulations/Solicitation: Three men were arrested for criminal trespass after a Sproul Hall resident reported a man was trying to sell perfume on the second floor of his dorm, University police said.

    Police said the men said they had solicited perfume sales in Sproul and Pinchot halls.

    Larry Pratcher Jr. of Chicago, Meena Ilankumaran of Morton Grove, Ill., and Anthony Mencarini of Caledonia, Ill., were arraigned before District Justice Ronald Horner and released for a combined bail of $219, police said.

  • Rules and Regulations/Solicitation: Resident assistant Melissa Haas reported two female students were trying to sell telephone calling cards Monday afternoon to residents of Thompson Hall, University police said.

    Police said they located the women on the third floor of the dorm. No charges have been filed.

  • Theft: An employee of Property Services Co., in State College, reported Monday that two washing machines and two dryers were stolen from the laundry, State College police said.

    The machines are worth $1,100 each.

  • Theft: Michael Montague of 306 Snyder reported his bicycle's rear wheel and sprocket were stolen between Friday and Monday outside his dorm, University police said.

    The parts are worth $200.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
