NEWS

As a resident of 150 W. Hamilton Ave. was bicycling home last night, she saw her street lit up by the lights of fire trucks and flares. When the woman, who would not give her name, stopped her bicycle in front of the small duplex where she lives, she was told the fire was in her home.

The Easter Bunny is a pretty tricky guy. The famous rabbit has made several appearances in State College this week -- sometimes in two places at the same time.

As the colors in the window of The Gap get progressively brighter and more pastel, and the threat of getting lost in a snowdrift becomes a joke instead of a reality, it's OK to assume that spring is coming this year.

For the past week, Men's Lacrosse Coach Glenn Thiel has been mulling over a question. Thinking over a question is not out of the ordinary, but his decision about this dilemma could mean victory or defeat.

Joe Paterno knows all about the dilemma that faces Women's Lacrosse Coach Julie Williams this weekend. The problem of having to face an unfamiliar opponent.

The old adage says the best way to learn is through trial and error. The Big Ten created a variation of that last weekend when they held the first-ever same-site men's and women's gymnastics championships in Rec Hall.

Around the same time that Cinderella has visions of pumpkins dancing through her head, eager music shoppers strike out into the night, their eyes lit up with expectation.

Guilty pleasures come and go in life -- from chocolate candies to cigarettes, they're things that don't do anything for us, things we can live without, but our cravings bring us back on a continual basis.

There was a lot to like about Wednesday night's production of Cabaret. Even the costumes caputured the fevered climate of Berlin in the pre-World War II period, and the action of the play represented the frenzied bitter-sweetness that many felt during that period.

Penn State is an environment populated by many living institutions, from Mike the Mailman and the Willard Preacher to Joe Paterno and Rene Portland. Joe Leahey and Chris McCormick to . . .
