Expect more
The Undergraduate Student Government president receives a 100 percent tuition stipend, the vice president receives 80 percent. Both are provided a full-time secretary all year. Students pay for their services so we, the students, have a right to expect more. Erich May and April Campbell are the only ticket truly serving students' needs. May/Campbell developed a strong platform founded on attainable goals that will impact our everyday lives. Rerouting the Town Loop further into town addresses student safety and transportation needs. State College Borough Manager Peter Marshall confirmed the feasibility of this plan. Expanding HUB and Pattee hours immediately improves student lives without raiding our wallets. A General Advising Center staffed with career advisers is an informative and necessary resource for students. But ideas aren't elected -- people are. People drive student government and we should expect honest motivations from these elected students. May and Campbell embody a concept of down-to-earth service. Listen to what they say and how they say it. They don't speak from a pedestal. Instead they genuinely listen to what we want. They aren't trying to win votes, they are trying to meet students. May/Campbell aren't about politics, they're about improving students' lives. With so much untapped potential at Penn State we have the power to return student government to whom it rightfully belongs, the students. It only takes 30 seconds for us to vote and elect a USG president and vice president who understand the concept of serving our needs. Stop the charade of student government. Elect Erich May and April Campbell tomorrow.
