The University may have to begin looking for a new face in public relations.
David Gearhart, senior vice president for development and University relations, is in Kentucky today interviewing for the position of president at Murray State University, The Associated Press reported Saturday.
Gearhart is the only finalist named so far by Murray State officials and the first finalist to visit the campus for an interview, according to the article.
"I know he's considering it," said Brad Choate, associate vice president for development and University relations, who added that he doesn't know if Gearhart is definitely leaving.
Gearhart is a Fulbright Scholar and graduate of the University of Arkansas.
University President Joab Thomas had no further information about the possibility of Gearhart's departure.
"I just read about it in the paper this morning," he said, adding that the University has not begun searching for a possible replacement.
