I am writing to compliment you on your exceptional job as editor in chief of The Daily Collegian. You have taken a one-sided, leftist propaganda rag and turned it into a pretty fair, interesting, and competent student newspaper.

Jeff Ecker was a wonderful choice for columnist, because he provides a refreshing break from the usual leftist campus orthodoxy. I always look forward to reading his columns.

Naina Narayana is the most professional reporter the Collegian has. She usually gets both sides of a story and allows facts, not her opinion, to guide her articles.

The editors of the opinions page must be congratulated for their open-mindedness and allowing Penn State Young Americans for Freedom letters to the editor be printed. I am sure there are many other competent Collegian staffers, but these individuals are among the most outstanding. Please convey my compliments to these fine individuals.

I hope that you will continue your fair and competent leadership of the Collegian.
