I am responding to Lynette Mason's letter -- "Debates about issues." Having known Mike King for almost three years, I know Mike King's "theatrical antics" were not meant to skirt the issues of the campaign. King's analogy was a method to convey his point to the audience as opposed to Erich May's comic relief at the end of the debate. A person of Mike's integrity would never stoop to such a level.
The Undergraduate Student Government presidential campaign is not about theatrics, but about issues concerning Penn State students. Many candidates have made unrealistic proposals that will end up costing us unnecessary increases in tuition. King has kept his platform within the realm of reality and advantageous to our academic pursuits.
But don't take my word for it, attend a debate. Find out which candidates are sidestepping issues, and which are giving real proposals to issues concerning us.
