When students are intoxicated, they usually try to avoid any contact with police. But a program on campus run by University Police Services encourages interaction between drunk students and police.

Let the coffee wars begin. Contrary to popular belief, there is actually less caffeine in the average espresso coffee drink than there is in regular drip-brewed coffee.

Every Sunday afternoon, Sean Fisher can be found seated with friends at his normal table at Hunan Chinese musing over which Oriental special he should try first.

The Undergraduate Student Government Academic Assembly unanimously approved the new constitution last night which would reorganize USG into the Penn State Student Association (PSA).

To endorse or not to endorse is the question that the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Student Alliance decided last night at a general meeting. A majority of LGBSA members voted to endorse Undergraduate Student Government presidential and vice presidential candidates Erich May and April Campbell.

After a snowfall or other emergency, students and residents in State College may be asked to move their cars to temporary parking to make way for cleanup crews.

The candidates for Undergraduate Student Government president and vice president are not only concerned about student life at the University -- they are addressing downtown State College as well.

SPORTS

The water polo team's Derek Fogg said it best.

"Penn State polo's not really a joke," the junior said after Sunday's 23-7 victory over James Madison.

With a Big Ten lifetime record of 0-3 against Illinois, it came as no surprise to the Lady Lions that the Illini would be tough. But no one expected the crushing 9-0 loss which occurred on Saturday.

After several months of long, grueling practices the Penn State Tae Kwon Do Club was ready to put its skills to the test at the State Championships at East Stroudsburg University on Saturday.

The sport of men's volleyball survived a slight scare when the NCAA recently changed the way it justifies the sponsoring of national championships.

Three competitions down, one to go. After the men's foil and sabre, and women's foil competitions, the overall team title that has been eluding the Penn State fencing team is still not decided.

When Simon-Peter Groebner graduated from his South Jersey high school three years ago, most of his friends went to Penn State or the University of Delaware. Groebner trekked halfway across the country (where, incidentally, it's colder than it is here) to attend the University of Minnesota -- just for Minneapolis' music scene.

Even with the plethora of bands that fills different Big Ten music scenes, venue owners in those towns believe that college students' interest in live music is on the decline.

Barb Schlif grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa, listening to the Beatles and the Who. When she went to the University of Iowa in the late 1980s, Schlif dissed the generic classic rock and opted for what was all the rage on her campus -- the Minutemen, Black Flag and other bands on the SST record label. Soon she and her future husband started their own three-piece power trio, House of Large Sizes.

A young woman is found lying on the dusty floor of an abandoned barn, her once-beautiful face now horribly disfigured. Where her nose and teeth used to be is a grisly mess of bone and flesh with a single imprint of a horseshoe being the only recognizable aspect of her hideous features.
