Learn about women
Excuse me, Mr. Srebro, but why do you insist on looking at life and this University, with such a narrow-minded view? Who gives you the right to judge the value another human being places on their chosen education? It is quite obvious that you have not researched the women's studies program in order to make a valid, intelligent conclusion for yourself. Why is it that I, an intelligent and focused student, must prove myself to you, when you seem to have the uneducated problem? You, sir, were raised in a society that teaches your patriarchal history. However, I am not a male and would appreciate learning about my female ancestry as well. Your display of absolute ignorance on women's contributions to our history is a product of this oppressive society. Your comment of "subjecting students to Women's perspectives" proves to be a double standard. Has not our entire culture been "subjected" to an entirely male perspective for hundreds of years? I do not feel the need to justify my chosen career to you. If you have any questions referring to specific jobs that women will be able to attain with a Penn State women's studies degree, I suggest you go to the department yourself. Trying to make others do your work for you is a weak attempt at self-education. If you truly want to understand how valuable these classes are, go to one or two. Maybe even ask the students, male and female, how they feel about them. Please educate yourself, Mr. Srebro, Only then will you be qualified to open a forum for discussion.
