Five more election information packets for Undergraduate Student Government president and vice president positions have recently been signed out, bringing the current total to seven.
Students interested in running for student government positions must sign out the packets, but this does not mean they are official candidates.
Latino Caucus President Carina Defferrire and Penn State University Veterans Organization Vice President Pat Scanlan have picked up a packet together. Scanlan said they are just looking at it for now and added that he could not comment further on the issue.
Stuart Mickelberg (freshman-division of undergraduate studies) and Jeff Brockett (freshman-prelaw) signed out a packet and said they were interested in running. Brockett said they hope to make a difference at the University.
Henry Mileski (junior-biology) and Omar Quintero (sophomore-biochemistry) picked up a packet. Mileski said they are considering running for office because they are dissatisfied with the way USG has been running. He said they are still looking over the packet and are not sure if they will run.
Brian Pelipesky, president of Penn State Young Americans for Freedom, was on the list of those who picked up packets. He was unavailable for comment last night.
Matt Thomas and Joy Brown were also listed on the information packet sign-out sheet, but they were unavailable for comment.
Last week USG Senate President Mike King signed out a packet with Lori Pennay and former USG Academic Assembly President Erich May picked up a packet with April Campbell (junior-Spanish).
