Police Log

  • Accident: A Campus Loop bus struck a parked car early Saturday morning along Curtin Road near East Halls, University Police Services said.

    Police said the car sustained minor damage.

  • Assault: William W. Kelly of 419 S. Fourth St. in Philipsburg was charged with assaulting a woman with whom he lives after an alleged argument early Saturday morning at their residence, Philipsburg State Police said.

    Police said Kelly was arraigned before District Justice Daniel Hoffman and sent to Centre County Prison in lieu of $500 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, police said.

  • Assault: A man reported he was punched in the face early Sunday morning at Phi Sigma Delta Sigma fraternity, 240 E. Prospect Ave., the State College Police Department said.

    He was treated for minor injuries at Centre Community Hospital.

  • Assault: David Kress of 616 E. College Ave. reported he was involved in a fight with an unknown man at an unknown apartment early Sunday morning, State College police said.

    Kress was treated for two black eyes, a bruised cheek and a bump on the head at the Centre Community Hospital.

  • Criminal Mischief: A fourth-floor Atherton Hall resident reported she found an unknown man drying himself off in her room early Sunday morning, University police said.

    Police said the man fled the room and they have no suspects.

  • Drug Law Violation: Two University students found two packets of cocaine Friday afternoon on a sidewalk on the northeast side of the HUB, University police said.

    Police said the incident is under investigation.

  • Drug Law Violation: A resident assistant reported marijuana odors coming from a Jordan Hall dorm room late Thursday night, University police said.

    Police said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia after searching the room. Charges are pending, police said.

  • Theft: James Quisenberry of 818 Bellaire Ave. reported a radio/compact disc player and 30 CDs were stolen between Saturday night and Sunday morning from his unlocked car at his apartment building, State College police said.

    The items are worth about $850.

  • Theft: Tim McGoldrick of 518 University Drive reported six CDs and 30 tapes were stolen between Saturday night and Sunday morning from his locked car at his apartment building, State College police said.

    The items are worth $340.
