Thank you one, thank you all for the grad ball

The last song had ended, as feet were all sore.
And thus was the memory of Thon '94.
Weak-kneed and wearied on their feet for two days,
Dancers laughed, they cried, they ate, they played.

But the message was clear, to be seen in each dancer:
"This one's for the kids, so let's wipe out this cancer."
In an age where too many just simply don't care.
At a time when the world seems wrapped up in despair,

The students of Penn State came forward to lead.
They revived all our hopes and they planted the seed.
The dollars they raised -- 1.2 million plus --
Should be an inspiring, example for us:

That we hold the future; it rests in our hands.
The world needs some fixing; let's meet its demand.
For good will need not last, a few days each year.
Each day we can act up and go volunteer.

Hats off to the people who helped to make Thon
An event to remember, before it was gone.
The time and the efforts they gave selflessly
Have earned our applause most loud and freely.

But the fight's far from over; our foot's in the door.
We're still a long way from finding that cure.
So what does this mean in our upside-down world
Where the philanthropy flag is but barely unfurled?

It means let's not forget why last weekend succeeded:
Group efforts, commitment, the desire always needed.
This week our emotions should be running on high.
What's next is unknown for the limit's the sky.

To all who made Thon '94 a success --
Thank you all very deeply for giving your best!
