I am writing this letter with the intention of finding someone who could help diminish my skepticism of the women's studies department.
Recently, I was looking through my Penn State baccalaureate degree programs bulletin and came across the women's studies major. At that moment, two questions jumped into my head.
First, can anyone explain to me why Penn State offers women's studies as a major? Second, what type of occupation can someone achieve with a degree in women's studies?
Usually this information can be ascertained by reading the brief description of the major. Unfortunately, I could not find an answer to either of my questions.
Please tell me that the women's studies major was not simply concocted to appease feminists.
