Police Log

  • Fraud: An employee of AW & Sons, 309 E. Beaver Ave., reported the business received a rent check on Dec. 6 written on an account with insufficient funds, the State College Police Department said.

    The rent check was written for $551, police said.

    Police said they have a suspect.

  • Fraud: Melissa Klein of State College reported $330 in unauthorized charges were made about Jan. 25 on her Citibank Visa credit card, State College police said.

    The charges were for items purchased in State College and Ohio, police said.

    Police said they do not have a suspect.

  • Theft: Michael Hoyne and Robert Van Gorder, both of 138 S. Atherton St., reported their coats were stolen between Feb. 11 and Sunday from their residence, State College police said.

    Hoyne's leather coat is worth $450. Van Gorder's coat is worth $300.

  • Theft: John Martin of 217 E. Nittany Ave. reported about $400 in cash was stolen Wednesday from his room, State College police said.

  • Theft: Erin Pape of 121 W. Fairmount Ave. reported flip-up headlights were stolen from her vehicle between late Saturday night and Sunday afternoon in Parking Lot 80, University Police Services said.

    The value of the headlights is unknown.
