Cockroaches
We would like to tell you about our friend. Our friend's name is Randy. We see Randy every day on our way to the dining hall and to the laundry room. But Randy is dead, and some friends have joined him over the past few days. Randy and his friends are cockroaches in Simmons Hall. These roaches have been both dead and alive and left by cleaning personnel for days. Let me ask you, what exactly is Penn State Pride -- the Lion Shrine, the successful graduates, the good athletic programs? What about the everyday dorm resident who is here to get an education? Does this pride include the approximate $3,400 it costs to live in the dorms? Are those vermin included in that cost? We are all clean people. There is no reason we should have to live with this. We are appalled at this and dread the fact that eventually they my get into our rooms and our possessions. Problems such as this are problems that no one ever hears about, yet we are forced by our contracts to live with them every day. Yes -- we as Penn State students can admire the brand new faculty parking lots from afar, we can attend a future basketball game in a new gleaming complex, but we still have to come home to our roaches.
