Need proof

Perhaps I am too ignorant to know, but I don't see what good student government is doing for us. And, I think many students here at Penn State share my opinion.

Sure, I see the articles about Undergraduate Student Government leaders resigning, or someone wants to reorganize some part of USG, or they want to take fifty dollars of our precious money for an activities fee. But, I can't say I remember seeing anything beneficial that USG has done for us. In fact, my fondest memories of USG are of Rob Kampia debating with local officials about marijuana use.

As far as I can see, USG is a waste of the University's money. But, I know it doesn't have to be that way. Perhaps those involved in USG could show the student population what good they really are doing and be a bit more public about everything they do. If USG can show the student population they truly are doing the students a lot of good, then perhaps they will be able to overcome the so-called student apathy. Otherwise, USG might as well dissappear.

Does USG really give the students a voice to be heard by the administration? I would like to think so. Convince me, please. Otherwise, don't count on me getting too involved.
