Reject intolerance
Bradley R. Smith in his revisionist advertisement states there is no evidence that "even one individual was 'gassed' in" the Holocaust. Has this man journeyed to German death camps to witness the desperate fingernail diggings embedded in cement walls in feeble attempts to escape gas chamber death? Has this man cried after reading the haunting testimony of concetration camp survivor, Elie Wiesel's Night? Those who survived the death camp experience remember most distinctly the ever-present aroma of burning human flesh. Even more disturbing then Smith's lack of evidence claim is that he focuses specifically on the Jews. Indeed the Nazis, had no small plans to desecrate an entire people, but along with the Jews went an additional six million innocent humans such as gypsies, gay men and women, the handicapped and others considered racially inferior. That his claim focuses specifically on the "Jewish experience" emphasizes his ignorance. The Holocaust is indeed a human issue. What is more troubling about Bradley R. Smith's advertisement is his attempt to manipulate our attention from dealing with the problems of humanity and instead focus on a detail. We need to reject intolerance. Smith tries to divert our focus. Let's not let him succeed.
