Letter to the Editor
Needs support
This letter is in response to the letter in yesterday's issue of The Daily Collegian from Robert P. Rehkopf about student support for Lady Lion basketball. I agree with him wholeheartedly. As one of the few student supporters and also a member of the Lady Lion Cager Club, I find it very disappointing that there is so little student attendance and support. Even some of the students who do attend aren't very supportive. In fact, at one game, the students who were sitting in front of me were getting angry with me for yelling and cheering. How do I show my support quietly? It has little to no effect just to sit there and watch. The team needs to know we are there with them every step of the way on their quest for the national championship. The team needs more attendance and support, loud support -- not loud, obnoxious support, but loud, excited support. They are a great bunch of women and need a great crowd behind them. One of their biggest games of the season, if not the biggest, is at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Rec Hall against Iowa. I ask all of you to come and find out exactly how much fun Lady Lion basketball is.
