Woman assaulted in department store: A 21-year-old State College woman reported she was cut 30 to 40 times yesterday afternoon by a man wearing a ski mask, the State College Police Department said.
The woman reported she was in a women's bathroom stall in the Hess's Department Store in the Nittany Mall when she heard someone enter the bathroom. She opened the door and a man allegedly told her to "shut up and don't fight or I'll kill you." A knife with a 6-inch blade was used to cut her upper body and chest area, police said.
She was taken to Centre Community Hospital where she was treated and released. Police said an investigation is continuing.

Missing Person: Michael Snow, 16, of Boalsburg, was reported missing yesterday, State College police said.
Snow was last seen at his residence on Friday night, police said.

Rape: A woman reported she was raped early Sunday morning at Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, 408 E. Fairmount Ave., by someone she knew, State College police said.
