Police Log

  • Assault: A woman was assaulted at a party at University Terrace Apartments, 825 Bellair Ave., the State College Police Department said.

    She was punched by a male acquaintance at a party and later went to Centre Community Hospital, police said.

    She was treated for a chipped tooth, chipped nasal bone and split lip, police said.

    Police do not have a suspect, but an investigation is continuing.

  • Public Drunkenness: Eric M. Callahan of 411 Holmes was arrested for public drunkenness yesterday morning on the sidewalk east of the HUB, University Police Services said.

    After police caught up with Callahan, who was allegedly staggering on Pollock Road, he refused to give his name and was not carrying identification, police said.

    Callahan was arraigned and held in lieu of $250 bail.

  • Theft: An employee of Looks Hair Design, 228 E. Calder Way, reported $2,600 in cash, checks and credit card receipts was stolen last month, State College police said.

    A former employee failed to deposit the money on Dec. 18 and Dec. 25, police said. Police have a suspect and an investigation is continuing.

  • Theft: Mike Hyde of 134A W. Fairmont Ave. reported several items were stolen Thursday morning from his apartment, State College police said.

    A female guest allegedly stole the items and left the apartment while Hyde was sleeping, police said. The missing items are a leather jacket, shirt, gloves, sweater and sunglasses.

    The items are worth $500.

    Police have a suspect and an investigation is continuing.

  • Theft: Randi Schwartz of 407 Haller reported her jacket was stolen between Saturday evening and yesterday morning from Beta Theta Pi fraternity, 220 N. Burrowes Rd., State College police said.

    The jacket is worth $200.
