Unwelcome behavior

Recently, the athletic department has invited very talented artists to sing the national anthem during Nittany Lion basketball games. Unfortunately, a few selfish, inconsiderate wags have seen fit to interrupt the artists' performances.

The athletic department can ill afford to send the wrong signal concerning such inappropriate behavior. But I suspect the athletic department's only recourse is to act, not only against the perpetrators, but against the victims -- the artists and the audience. That course of action would be to revert to Blue Band music, thereby depriving PSU's jokers further opportunity to embarrass the Penn State community but also depriving singers an opportunity to perform.

Although the Blue Band does a nice job, it is a shame that so few could dictate whether a singer is invited to display his/her talent.
