Dancers aren't the only ones raising money for the 1994 Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. University students at three Commonwealth Campuses set out yesterday to score for the Four Diamonds Fund of the University's Hershey Medical Center.
The event was held at McKeesport Campus, said Rick Elyar, Pittsburgh regional director of the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments.
Students from Fayette, McKeesport and New Kensington campuses participated in the volleyball tournament. The event raised $450.
"One of the goals of the CCSG is more involvement from the Commonwealth Campuses so they feel like they're a part of it," said Tim Daniels, Student Government Association executive officer at McKeesport Campus.
Fayette SGA President Gary Verkleeren said it is important for the Commonwealth Campuses to get involved with events such as the dance marathon because many students who attend Commmonwealth Campuses never attend University Park.
Delaware County Campus transfer student Danette Perkins (junior-secondary education) said Commonwealth Campus students don't have a sense of belonging to the University because most Commonwealth Campus students commute.
