NEWS

The College of Health and Human Development has created a new center to research the health problems of "special populations."

One of Bill Welch's prize possessions is a postcard mailed aboard a ship off of the tip of the Arabian Peninsula just before World War I.

Time magazine has its Man of the Year. Sports Illustrated has its Sportsman of the Year. Not to be left out, the editor in chief of Science magazine jumped on the boat and declared a Molecule of the Year.

SPORTS

A week ago he was training in England as part of the British National team. Now, he will be competing with the Nittany Lions as a member of the Penn State men's gymnastics team.

On the same day that many coaches said a boycott of men's basketball, organized by the Black Coaches Association, is inevitable, it is still unclear whether or not this weekend's Penn State game will suffer.

The men's volleyball team is definitely coming into the big time.

For many people, the most significant contribution their junior high gym teacher made in their lives was making sure the dodge ball games didn't turn ugly, or perhaps some personal hygiene tips taught in health class.
