With the sounding of a bullhorn, about 500 racers were off and running yesterday in the Nittany Valley -- Arts Festival 10 Kilometer Road Race.

MEDIA -- In an attempt to attract more out-of-state students to the Commonwealth Educational System, the University will cut 1994-95 out-of-state CES tuition by 25 percent.

After high salary increases and low tuition hikes, University officials and student leaders are pressuring state officials to make Gov. Robert P. Casey's Tuition Challenge Grant money part of the permanent state funds.

For many young and old Penn Staters, tailgating is as important to the fans as the ball is to the game. But as the Nittany Lions face new opposition, tailgaters have to face a change in their drinking habits.

If it wasn't for the Lady Lion Basketball Camp, Angie Potthoff might not be where she is today -- playing Division I basketball at Penn State.

Dreams really do come true -- just ask Suzie McConnell-Serio.

The former Penn State basketball sensation, who was a guest lecturer at last week's Lady Lion Basketball Camp, talked to a very attentive group of campers about her life in basketball.

Seventeen years ago, Julie Williams was introduced to the sport of lacrosse -- today she is preparing for the World Cup Games.

Some members of the Penn State Tennis Club have issued complaints about a "continuing pattern of harassment, mismanagement and bad behavior to members" by club Manager Jerry Duck, former club President Bob Berrettini said.

In contrast to the crowded streets of the 27th Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, the first People's Choice of Pennsylvania Arts and Crafts Festival took place at Memorial Field in Boalsburg -- an open grassy space, cooled by a small stream and shade trees.
