Some students believe coin-operated washing machines are taking them to the cleaners, so they're not paying.

Concluding a yearlong national search, David McBride has emerged as the University's choice to head the new department of African and African-American Studies.

Like Navy ROTC and the Applied Research Laboratory, Engineering Cooperative Education has been affected by defense cuts. Two years ago, defense-related positions made up nearly 35 percent of all engineering co-ops. Last year, only 10 percent were defense-related.

The dog days are here to stay.

There will be little relief from the hot and humid weather during these last few days of the 27th Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, according to Accu-Weather senior meteorologist Ken Reeves.

The idea that lawyers are scummy has become one of the central ideas of American culture.

Those who are sick and tired of overhyped million-dollar Hollywood flicks can find refuge in the University's first summer student film screening.

Although the Arts Fest is enjoyable for most who attend, some residents and businesses located on the Festival's route experience its advantages and disadvantages.

One after another, booths line South Allen Street, selling pizza, fries, fruit smoothies, and Chinese food as part of the traditional expo during Arts Festival. This year there is plenty of mulch, too.
