Some University groups are feeling the peace dividend's dark side as they try to cope with the crunch of reduced defense spending.

Pattee is expected to open completely today or tomorrow -- two weeks after a water main break flooded parts of the library.

At Centre Community Hospital, things are back to business as usual -- at least for now.

Following last year's minimal salary increase, University officials hope to appease employees by proposing an average salary growth of 4 percent.

Andrew Griffey is preparing to add more hours to his work week as the University proposes its 26th consecutive tuition hike.

Missy Masley swears she will slam dunk a basketball someday. The 6-foot-2 junior from Farmington, N.Y., says that right now she can grab the rim with ease.

The transition game is nothing new to Mark Schmidt, the former men's basketball coaching assistant, as he moves up the collegiate stepladder of success.

It wasn't Wimbledon, but the participants in the Penn State Tennis Camp were hitting with top University players last week.

During the summer, many people feel that it is too hot outside to even leave the comfort of their air-conditioned apartment. But imagine yourself in what is quite possibly the hottest room on campus -- the wrestling room in the Intramural Building.

Even with all of the practice and preparation in the world, no athlete is completely immune to "freak accidents" that are a part of competition.

When Sherri Turner was 10 years old, she attended her first Penn State Competitive Swimming Camp. If not for that experience, Turner may not have ended up as a member of the women's swimming team.
