NEWS

The University Creamery plans on dipping more than 50,000 ice cream cones. Irving's Bagels is ordering 5,000 pounds of flour. And Mario & Luigi's plans on cooking more than 100 pounds of pasta. The 27th Annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts will certainly take its toll on downtown State College.

In the fall some tailgaters will be chugging out of cans and not cups.

SPORTS

Swimmer Fran McDermid had sat biting her nails three months ago, wondering if her shot at the national team had passed her by.

Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, and Flip Wilson have had a tremendous impact in many aspects of society -- even in basketball.

John Lucas climbed two mountains during his recent trip to Lausanne, Switzerland.

There comes a time when a good rock band hits its peak and captures, on one album, a musical force which can make kids' guts rumble from the sheer joy of it. UO has done it.

Who'd have thought a play about murder and euthanasia could be so funny?
