Letter to the Editor
Fight hatred

We commend President Thomas for publicly denouncing hate speech and committing himself to the creation of a University community that is free of harassment for women in his recent letter to the Collegian. It is time, however, for President Thomas to take steps to offset the hatred and bigotry promoted in The Lionhearted.

This week a coalition of students, faculty and staff proposed a number of steps the University could follow to make University Park a safer and more supportive environment for all students, faculty and staff. We urge President Thomas to implement the recommendations made by this group.

This letter was signed by nine other students.
