The chairman of The Lionhearted's board of directors is filing harassment countercharges against a University student.

The name will remain the same, but the people in charge may not.

The University is scrutinizing the card access system in dorms as part of a review of campus security.

Students planning to live in either South, North, Atherton or McKee Halls next fall might want to consider packing a television.

University Police Services recently discovered that side entrances to some dorms are not locking properly.

Content with the simplest living conditions, a certain mystique surrounds them -- from their Swiss army knives to their specialized exterior-frame packs.

At Shaver's Creek Environmental Center, fifth-graders learn to pass cans of water with their feet. The trick is to work together so the water won't spill.

With her background in neighborhood leadership, Elaine McKelvey thinks maintaining the beauty of State College is important to keeping the borough vital.

State College Borough Council candidate Janet Knauer wants all State College residents -- including students -- to feel at home in the borough.

In a united front, a joint session of the Undergraduate Student Government Senate and USG Academic Assembly passed a resolution last night calling for the halt of the proposed merger of two departments in the College of the Liberal Arts.

University Health Services will no longer operate 24 hours a day during the week, beginning Fall Semester 1993.

SPORTS

Going out on top -- winning the championship in your final season as coach -- is a coach's dream.

Penn State will be among the participants in the women's rugby Final Four this weekend at Rice University. Air Force, UCLA and Connecticut are the other teams playing to determine this year's women's rugby national champion.

It was a beautiful day for a ballgame.

Yesterday at Lady Lion Field, Penn State was blessed with warm rays and cool breezes as it hosted Akron in a regional doubleheader. But as bright as it was, it's doubtful that the sun shown down more brightly than it did on Kelley Sax.

After falling to a 2-5 start in this 1993 season, the men's lacrosse team still aspired to have a winning record. But it would have to win its last four games to do so.

He will never be mistaken for a vocal member of the men's track team, but co-captain Andy Scott definitely makes his presence known -- with his performances on the track.
