Our congratulations and thanks go out to the brother of the Delta Phi fraternity, along with the sisters of Theta Kappa Pi, for their hard work and organization of the Delta Phi Music Fest to benefit the Association for Retarded Citizens. This was again a great success, bringing the region's finest musical talent together in an event that is both exciting and philanthropic. The audience had a great time and it benefitted a great cause!
We know what an enormous task it is to plan such an event, get the needed sponsorship and create the necessary excitement to bring people out -- on all counts the Delta Phi and the Theta Kappa Pi members did a superb job. The mix of bands, The Beaver Avenue Beggars, Bob Hideycat and the Groovy Boots, The Boxing Oscars, The Dirges, Man Alive, Nomad, Soul Gypsies and Out of the Blue -- was also perfect: there was something for everyone.
Special thanks go out to Bill Howell, Delta Phi Philanthropy chair, for his superb coordination of the event; to the corporate sponsors who made the event possible: Swan Technologies, Budweiser, Pepsi, Mid State Graphics, Subway, 97 QWK, Video Visions and Gumby's Pizza; to Don Stine, Manager of the VFW Hall for providing a superb space, and of course to all the bands and the audience, without whom the event would simply not be possible. We tip our hats to you!
The Association appreciates the wonderful partnership is shares with Penn State students, groups and faculty, and we look forward to continuing our special relationship in our shared mission to enhance the lives of people with mental retardation in Centre County.
