Police Log

  • Disorderly Conduct: A 22-year-old University student was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness at 10:53 p.m. Wednesday after he yelled obscenities and attempted to start a fight at Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, 346 E. Prospect Ave., State College Bureau of Police Services said.

    Police said the man pulled down a volleyball net and began to yell at a large group of fraternity members.

  • Disorderly Conduct: Keith Tucker of 340 E. Beaver Ave. reported a 21-year-old man showed him a gun at 1:40 a.m. yesterday following a verbal argument they had at McDonald's Restaurant, 442 E. College Ave., State College police said.

    The man did not point the gun or threaten Tucker with it, police said, adding they are continuing the investigation.

  • Theft: Douglas Andrews of Lancaster reported a radar detector and Cellular One phone were stolen from his car parked at the Days Inn Penn State, 240 S. Pugh St., between Wednesday and yesterday, State College police said.

    Police said a window was broken to enter the car. The items are worth $325.

  • Theft: Office of Physical Plant employee Ron Eckenroth reported two beacon lights were stolen from two maintenance trucks between Wednesday night and yesterday morning while the trucks were parked in Parking Lot Red G, University Police Services said. The trucks were also dented, police said.

    The lights are worth about $150 and the damage to the trucks was estimated at more than $100.
