A 24-year-old State College man was ordered last Wednesday to stand trial by District Magistrate Clifford Yorks for allegedly assaulting and raping a 21-year-old Clinton County woman at his Parkway Plaza apartment.

Six new candidates, including two University students, entered the race for State College Borough Council during spring break, and a Republican candidate declared candidacy in the mayoral race.

Many students who got snowed in while returning from spring break found their accommodations were less than four-star.

The best thing about the blizzard that rammed through State College this weekend was that it didn't happen when University classes were in session, said Tom Harmon, director of University Police Services.

Although it is often the go-between in tenant and landlord disputes, the Organization for Town Independent Students does not take sides.

To many people, having the option of sitting in a nonsmoking section in a restaurant is a simple courtesy -- in State College it is the law.

They are everywhere these days -- big machines emitting bleeps and eating the quarters of hapless victims worldwide. Even at the University, hungry token-takers suck up thousands each week.

The storm of the century extended spring break, but few students got the chance to enjoy it.

A group of students will sue the University unless it agrees by April to work to make facilities more accessible to students with disabilites.

The ghost of "The King" will be haunting Rec Hall tonight during the men's volleyball match.

In the circle of life, it's funny how everyone always seems to go back to what they know and like.

The men's gymnastics team sailed through the first half of the regular season, notching a seven-win undefeated record.

The No. 11 men's gymnastics team got off on the wrong foot en route to a 281.35-274.4 loss at No. 2 Nebraska on March 7.

Twenty-five years. Sounds like an eternity, especially for those of us who haven't even been alive for 25 years.

Four months ago the mere thought of it would have been bloody ridiculous.

The women's track team enjoyed successful outings at the Big Ten Championships and the NCAA Championships while the rest of Penn State was on spring break.

Slow starts and horrid shooting translated into lopsided losses for Penn State in games against Minnesota and Michigan State. Sandwiched in between was a near-upset of No. 18 Purdue in "Mr. Robinson's neighborhood."

It took all season to happen and when it did, it couldn't have come at worse time.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- They talk about how tough it is to repeat, and that three-peating is nearly impossible. But imagine 20-peating.

For the 11th time in the 12-year history of the NCAA women's tournament, Penn State will go dancing.

Looking across the bench throughout the March 5 tilt between then No. 2 Iowa and No. 8 Penn State, everyone could see the fire in the Lady Lions' eyes.
