As dancers faced delirium and cramped calves, their camera-carrying parents hoped for the best, bringing cards, good-luck trolls and stickers.

Whoever said lightning never strikes the same place twice?

The cold weather continued, but the heat in White Building escalated as students danced and music blared for 48 long hours last weekend.

Ann McNabb designed an afghan for people who want to get all wrapped up in Penn State.

In a frenzy of food, dancing and music, the University community got a taste of Africa's cultural diversity Saturday night in the HUB Ballroom.

State College Borough Council President R. Thomas Berner is no longer keeping his options open about running for State College mayor.

A strike by University Health Services nurses is not imminent, although the local nurses' union rejected the University's contract offer.

Voices escalated, hands clapped, balloons skyrocketed, Emerald City rocked and with many wet eyes, the 1993 Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon came to a close.

One side of the Rec Hall floor Friday night was the M.A.S.H. Unit, engulfed by crutches, knee braces and various tapes and wraps.

KENT, Ohio -- Nestled next to Dix Stadium, a seemingly long distance away from the campus, is the Kent State field house. But Saturday, within that same field house, was a track meet that was anything but distant.

It's back to square one.

For the second time this winter, the men's soccer program learned that a member of last year's 16-8 squad received national honors.

Consistency. Consistency. Consistency.

The men's gymnastics team and Iowa felt the wrath of a high bar curse in the closing minutes of the Lions 275-271.75 victory on Saturday night at Rec Hall.

Freshman Ryan McEwen may have had a bit more on his mind than just the gymnastics meet last Saturday night. The same can probably be said for Iowa freshmen Aaron Cotter and Hugh Lau. After all, it's not everyday that you get to compete against some of your best friends.

CLARION - For the first time since 1974 the wrestling team finished the dual meet season undefeated.

After "The Big Game," teams need to be able to rebound after a huge victory or a tough loss.

Chalk up Rennie Clemons as yet another example of bad timing for the Lion basketball team.

It was a smile that had been missing for quite a long time. There was joking and laughing. And just blatant honesty. It was a new DeRon Hayes, equipped with a brand new attitude and a symbolically bald head.

Whew!

The Icers finished their regular season as the first Icers team to go undefeated, but it didn't come without last minute efforts from University of Buffalo and Buffalo State.

The men's track team has added two more casualties to its record: Kent State and Youngstown State.
