Before the Icers can focus on playoff hockey, they must settle a little unfinished regular season business in Buffalo this weekend. Having a freshman come in and lead a team that is vying for the national championship is an extremely risky move. In Champaign last month, the Lions gave Illinois a run for its money. At Rec Hall, Coach Lou Henson is afraid Penn State may give them a bit more. He dazzled the world with his stunning gymnastics performance at the Olympic Games in Barcelona. After four grueling months and 20 dual meets, the No. 1 wrestling team is preparing for the final weekend of the regular season. Athletes all around the world strive to represent their country in the Olympics. But unlike so many others, Penn State student Dave Loshelder is well on his way to achieving this goal. Praise for Alabama's Dee Foster simply trickles from the mouths of virtually everyone associated with women's gymnastics. In perhaps its biggest home game of the year, the women's basketball team suffered a disappointing 66-57 loss to No. 2 Vanderbilt.
