Police Log

  • Unreturned videos 39 days overdue: An employee of the Video Center, 304 W. College Ave., reported someone has failed to return two videos rented from the store on Jan. 9, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

    The videos, Deep Cover and 9 Weeks, are 39 days overdue.

    The overdue fees total $114.93.

  • Burglary: John D. Glas of 320 E. Beaver Ave. reported his American Telephone and Telegraph cordless telephone was stolen from his apartment at 2 a.m. Saturday, State College police said.

    Glas found the phone missing after a group of friends left his apartment, police said.

    The phone is worth $130.

  • Burglary: Jeffrey J. Haggerty of 825 Bellaire Ave. reported his wallet was stolen from his apartment Wednesday night, State College police said.

    The wallet was left on the counter, but when Haggerty returned, it was gone, police said.

    The wallet contained $102 and various credit cards.

  • Criminal Mischief: An employee of Associated Realty, 456 E. Beaver Ave., reported ceiling tiles, smoke detectors and light fixtures were torn down yesterday at Hetzel Plaza, 500 E. College Ave., State College police said.

    Damage was estimated at $250.

  • Theft: Marvin Blumenthal of 172 Big Hollow Road reported Friday night that his coat was stolen from the coat room of The Nittany Lion Inn, University Police Services said.

    The coat is worth $305.

  • Theft: An employee of The Apartment Store, 444 E. College Ave., reported a videocassette recorder was stolen from the office at 825 Bellaire Ave. between Wednesday night and yesterday morning, State College police said.

    All of the doors were locked and there was no sign of forced entry, police said.

    The VCR is worth $100.
