Now that it's time for the new president and vice president to get to work, some students agree the environment deserves attention. University researchers will be working with the Defense Department during the next three years to decrease the military's dependence on imported oil and increase its use of domestic coal. Students who want to get their feet wet in the area of health education now have the opportunity. A storm that dumped nine inches of snow on State College this weekend left two people --including a University student --dead after two vehicle accidents Friday in Centre County. On Saturday, the crowd at Rec Hall watched three All-Americans wrestle for the last time. The women's tennis team lost one singles flight to Old Dominion and was flawless against the University of Akron in winning the Lady Lion Invitational this weekend. It was definitely life in the fast lane for the men's 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams at the Iowa State Invitational. No one can say the men's swimming and diving team isn't consistent. Practice makes perfect. But, when perfect is unattainable, better than before just has to do. The rankings labelled the No. 10 men's gymnastics team as the underdogs against No. 6 Michigan State in Saturday's home meet. The men's volleyball team took on the second-ranked Canadian team in a three-match exhibition over the weekend. A high dosage of defense mixed with a limited number of penalty minutes combined to give the Icers an explosive weekend. Penn State declawed the Towson State Tigers, 11-4, on Saturday and the Erie Icekats, 7-2, on Friday. Women's Gymnastics Coach Steve Shephard said his team was going to "take a step back" this weekend in order to prepare for the rest of the season. Seven super seniors etched their names in Icer history this weekend as they hit the century mark for the number of wins as a class. When fists are flying at you from all angles, six minutes may seem like an eternity. The last time Indiana faced the women's basketball team, the Hoosiers shut down Penn State's inside game and shocked the visiting Lady Lions, 71-65. Things weren't looking particularly pretty for the women's basketball team after last Sunday's 25-point loss to Iowa. The No. 1 wrestling team continues to dispose of opponents like yesterday's trash. The men's basketball team learned two important lessons about the Big Ten in its 67-58 loss at Northwestern on Saturday night:
