Although the student status clause in the State College Borough's proposed fair housing ordinance has some property owners up in arms, the clause would not have a significant impact on student housing.

The Undergraduate Student Government Department of State Affairs no longer wants individual employee salaries included in its quest for an open University budget.

Their formal induction as National Pan-Hellenic Council co-chairs is not until mid-February, but Melanie Lawson and Gregory Huckstep already have plans for their new positions.

That was the sentiment of the alumni men's volleyball squad after it lost to the varsity team in the 17th Annual Alumni-Varsity Volleyball Classic last weekend.

The men's gymnastics team wants to focus on the present, but during its victory over Syracuse on Friday night, the Nittany Lions could not avoid getting a glimpse at the future.

Home-field advantage usually works against the visiting team. But the standing-room-only crowds in the ice pavilion last weekend were just the atmosphere that visiting Michigan-Dearborn has come to expect.

Although "Class of '96" may at first glance seem like another tired "Beverly Hills 90210" clone, series creator and co-executive producer John Romano has ensured the only thing the two shows have in common is their home on the Fox network.

Late night at the Allen Room is a combination of old-fashioned entertainment and the scent of French perfume; a throwback to an era where conservative dress was applauded and conversation endured.

Performing under pressure is an elusive art.

But 10 musicians demonstrated that ability in their final music performance juries last semester and were selected for the School of Music's Jury Recognition Recital at 8 Friday night.

With "Beverly Hills 90210" showing the so-called problems of high school and "Melrose Place" attempting to portray life in the so-called real world after graduation, there is only one area of young adult life the Fox network isn't bringing to prime time -- college.

Since the '70s, the Graduate Student Association International Film Series has showcased 16mm prints of various foreign and smaller-scale American releases in Kern Building. But come February, the series will upgrade to 35mm prints as it moves to a new home in the plush surroundings of the Carnegie Cinema.
