PSU doesn't care

Dear University Future Committee, I am very sorry to hear that you have even considered reducing or eliminating the Penn State Escort Service and the Victim/Witness Advocate Program. These services are essential for women at Penn State. Simply because the University did not offer this service years ago is an absolutely absurd argument from James Wagner. Has Mr. Wagner ever thought about why the programs were initiated? I can safely answer that it was because they were needed. And to this day they still provide a vital service. These suggestions of cutting or reducing the Escort Service and the Victim/Witness Advocate Program send a clear message to all that attend Penn State or consider attending Penn State that the University doesn't give a damn about women. It seems to me that it is time for the University to organize its priorities and not be so eager for the easy solution. I urge you to ignore these suggestions and look to other areas for funding cuts. Promoting a hostile environment for the women at Penn State is not the way to save money.
