Police Log

  • Vehicle strikes man on bicycle: An employee of Centre Communications of Bellefonte reported an accident at the intersection of Pollock Road and Atherton Street just before 2 Tuesday afternoon, University Police Services said. A vehicle operated by Alan Benesi of 138 W. Whitehall Road struck a bicycle operated by Carl Croushore of State College.

    Croushore received minor injuries and was transported to Centre Community Hospital by Alpha Community Ambulance Service, police said. But a hopital spokeswoman said Croushore was never treated there.

  • Burglary: Someone entered the Church Of The Nazarene, 3601 S. Atherton St., Monday night and took petty cash and other items, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

    No estimate of the loss is available yet.

  • Criminal Mischief: Four mailboxes were damaged and the tires on two cars were slashed on Brush Valley Road Tuesday night, State College police said.

    The tire damage was $285. No estimate was available of the damage to the mailboxes.

  • Missing Persons: Jessica Moerschbacher, 14, 222 Fray Drive, was reported missing after she did not show up for school yesterday morning, State College police said.
