"I'm glad to be an American where at least I know I'm free," except of course if you want to carry a sign on the lawn of Old Main. It seems that the College Republicans have forgotten about a certain document called the Constitution. If I could be so bold as to refresh their memories, there is a freedom of speech, the First Amendment if you still haven't remembered. Yesterday when standing in line to see Bush, I was approached by two College Republicans who told me I was not going to be allowed to carry a Clinton/Gore sign onto the lawn of Old Main.
I'm getting tired of Bush's blatant disregard of the people in this country. In this speech yesterday he said we should have "the freedom to say what we want." This is coming from the man who told the mothers of soldiers missing in action "to sit down and shut up," yesterday he told Bill Clinton to shut up and then he told us to shut up by not letting us carry our signs. Well Mr. Bush, Bill Clinton will not shut up, the mothers of MIA's will not shut up, and I will be damned if I shut up.
