Student arrested after break in: University Police Services arrested a University student in connection with a break-in at the Blue Golf Course's pro shop, police said.
A forced entry at the shop set off a silent alarm before 5 yesterday morning. When police arrived they found James A. Lange, 22, of 512 E. College Ave. hiding in the shop.
Lange was arraigned before District Justice Clifford Yorks on charges of burglary, attempted theft, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and possessing instruments of a crime, police said.
He is being held in Centre County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday morning in Centre County Court.

Stratford Drive car thefts reported: More than $1,100 worth of items were reported taken from three cars parked along Stratford Drive early yesterday morning, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
James Scoltz of 812 Stratford Dr. reported that someone broke the passenger side window of his car and took an aluminum baseball bat, a brown leather baseball glove, a scanner, an AC/DC converter and 04706602cord and Ray Ban blue lens glasses, police said. The items are valued at $619.
James T. Dunkle Jr. of Mill Creek reported that someone took three speakers and an amplifier from his car while it was was parked at 700 Stratford Drive, police said. The items are worth $375.
Donald A. Johnson Jr. of 801 Stratford Drive reported that someone took a compact disc player from his car parked at his residence, police said. The player is worth $150.

Criminal Mischief: David Herd of Vending Services reported that someone poured a salt solution into a vending machine in Pennypacker Hall lobby between Tuesday and Wednesday morning, University police said.
Damage is estimated at $400.
Theft: Peter Buch of 417 E. Prospect Ave. reported that someone took his locked mountain bike sometime late Wednesday night, State College police said.
The bike is worth $750.

Theft: Someone took $242.84 worth of merchandise from Gee Bee's Department Store at the Nittany Mall Wednesday night, State College police said.
Theft: Beth Ann Herr of 445 Waupelani Drive reported that someone took a softball glove from her car yesterday morning, State College police said.
The glove is worth $130.
