In the past few weeks, if the baseball team wanted to face a familiar foe from the past, it had to go on the road to do it. Today, one of those old friends comes here. But Icarus, a shocking, thought-provoking original musical, grabbed the Outlaw audience last Thursday at their black-box theater's late-night performance. It's 1 p.m. on a Tuesday and 20 students enter Chambers Building for their next class. Soon their professor cranks up "Hot, Hot, Hot" on the stereo. The students jump up singing and dancing in sync to the music. Despite being currently entrenched in College Media Journal's Top 150 and receiving steady college radio airplay, North Carolina natives Superchunk remain unmarked by the spoils of success. Not knowing what to expect or how to relate to the expression of a different culture, I waited in the dark of Eisenhower Auditorium for the beginning of DanceBrazil's program Thursday night. Anyone who was in the White Building's North Gym Friday night can tell you stepshows are more than just dancing. Bud Greenspan appreciates losers.
