The ballot for the Undergraduate Student Government election last Wednesday included four referendum questions.
The first question asked students what they thought should be the University's highest priority for increasing the quality of undergraduate education.
The top three choices were: strengthening pre-major and major advising (2,336 votes), smaller class sizes (2,145 votes) and incentive programs for quality instructors (1,744 votes), according to election results.
The second question asked students how much they would be willing to pay to use the Fraternity Loop.
According to the results, 2,219 students said the question was not applicable. The next two choices were 55 cents (1,906 votes) and 60 cents (642 votes). The most expensive choice on the ballot, 75 cents, came in fourth (484 votes), placing above two other less expensive choices.
The next question asked students if a joint committee of USG representatives, University students and officials should be formed to investigate ways of financing a more comprehensive recycling program; 5,324 students voted yes and 240 voted no, according to election results.
The last referendum question asked students if they would support a comprehensive recycling program even if it meant extra effort on the part of the University community -- 5,369 students voted yes and 212 voted no, according to the results.
