It's still the weather
Recently, the Campus Weather Service began putting its temperatures in both Fahrenheit and Celsius on Telephone Information Penn State and the mainframe computer forecasts. It is being done out of requests from our international student body here at Penn State. Unfortunately, it has caused a bit of an uproar. Many feel that foreigners should learn the Fahrenheit scale simply because the United States still uses it. The fact is, the United States is a minority in that it is one of very few countries in the world that continues to use Fahrenheit. By no means are we advocating a conversion to the Celsius scale of temperature or to the metric system in general. The Campus Weather Service is a non-profit, student organization dedicated to providing all of its listeners with the most accurate weather forecasts in a form that everyone can easily understand.
