With increasing awareness of the link between health and nutrition, more people are reading food labels when they go grocery shopping. But people often do not know what to look for to make a healthy choice.
 
Although candidates for Undergraduate Student Government president and vice president are wrapped up in University issues, they also want to tackle several items in town.
 
Some say that having a female running mate is mere tokenism, but the Undergraduate Student Government presidential candidates say they are just looking for another point of view.
 
Commonwealth Campus enrollment may increase while University Park enrollment may decrease next year in what appears to be the start of the University's promised enrollment cap here.
 
The Internal Revenue Service has decreased the amount of money that will be taken out of employee paychecks, but students may get smaller refunds or have to pay tax at the end of the year if they agree to the new withholding tables.
 
Carly Belkowski had an English paper due.
 
The Centre County Board of Commissioners has already rejected changing the district attorney's status from part to full time, but a cloud of controversy continues to hang over the issue as questions surface about the legal advice the board received about it.

Graduation traditionally is a time of hope and excitement for seniors, but the class of 1992 faces a dire economic setback to the "commencement" of their careers.
 
 
SPORTS
 
It was the first outdoor meet of the season for the women's track team, but the performances resembled mid-season results.
 
It took them two days and four games, but the Lady Lions finally did it.
 
Despite having the chips stacked against it, the men's tennis team managed to have a very successful weekend.
 
Against a good team, you can turn a subpar performance into a victory. However, against a great team an average performace often spells defeat.
 
They had to do it.
 
BOULDER, Colo. -- In the locker room at halftime of Thursday's second Midwest semifinal, Mississippi's Charlotte Banks, Jackie Martin and Kim Gilchrist never gave a thought to their combined 0-for-6 first-half shooting from 3-point land.
 
There's no doubt that the women's lacrosse team (4-2) is fast, especially on turf. But the start of yesterday's first half was far from it.
 
Six balance beam routines stood between the women's gymnastics team and its first Big Ten Championship.
 
Attackman Chris Lehman scored three goals and Coach Glenn Thiel picked up his 100th victory as No. 9 Penn State smothered Lafayette, 11-7, Saturday afternoon.
 
Two members of the men's diving team leaped into unchartered waters this weekend, and they didn't know what to expect. But they didn't do too bad for themselves.
 
All season long, the men's gymnastics team has been a team on the rise.
 
The baseball team traveled to Illinois this weekend, looking to make a big splash in its first Big Ten games. What the team received was a dunking by Illinois' pitching staff.
