Letter to the Editor
After the fact
This letter is in response to the article in Thursday's Collegian about Jim Ryerson's alleged allegations of impropriety regarding his term as USG senator. As a member of the USG Senate, I was serving at the time that Jim was appointed. Jim was one of the most hard-working, ambitious, and ethical senators that served. In my opinion, he served his constituents extremely well at a time when the senate was extremely apathetic. In addition, during the time that Jim and I served together, he told me that he had moved to his fraternity's residence a couple of weeks after he had been appointed. If there were a problem about that issue, it should have been resolved then. It is ridiculous to condemn Jim now for getting involved in USG then. The only thing he proved was that it was more important to him to get involved and act instead of just talking a good game.
