Richard Kresge's criticism of the expansion of the Nittany Lion Inn (Reader Opinion, March 23) may leave readers of the Collegian with the impression that funding for the project came from donors.

Kresge says in his letter that "it is ironic that we have no problem raising the $15 million for the extravagant Nittany Lion Inn renovation" when those funds could have gone to the library, reducing tuition hikes or other important academic needs. He repeatedly tells readers this was accomplished through a fund-raising project.

There was no fund-raising project for the expansion at the Inn.

All of the improvements to the Inn will be paid for by guests who stay at the Inn, just as most hotels pay for their facilities through charges they pass on to their customers. There were no University funds involved in the project as Kresge tells his readers. His information is wrong.
