Police Log

Burglary: A resident of 747 E. Beaver Ave. reported that items belonging to Howard Schwartz, of the same address, were taken from their unlocked apartment between 3 and 7 Saturday morning, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
The items taken -- a receiver, an audio speaker and an answering machine are worth $310.

Criminal Mischief: Someone reported that a Hitachi excavator owned by D&A Construction of St. Marys was damaged while it was parked at the 100 block of Calder Way during the weekend, State College police said.
Two head lamps, the windshield and the muffler were broken, police said. No damage estimate was available.

Found Property: State College police said they received a package yesterday morning containing various items including BMW and Mercedes emblems, film, a radar detector, a stereo equalizer, audio cassette tapes and an audio head cleaner.
Included in the package was a typed letter stating that the enclosed items had been stolen over the past month by some teen-agers, police said. The letter also stated that if any of the items had been reported missing, maybe the owners will be found.

Theft: Paul Squadrito of 733 W. College Ave. reported that his art supplies were taken from the landscape architecture studio of Engineering Unit E Building sometime this weekend, University Police Services said.
The supplies are worth $120.
